Here's a quote from Matt Taibbi. "In a terrible year for conservatives, with the death spiraling Bush administration taking Republican seats down with them all over the country, Michelle Bachmann won a fairly independent district by an eight point margin. I n her runs for Congress, Bachmann discovered-or perhaps it is more accurate to say we all discovered- that a total absence of legislative accomplishment and a complete inability to tell the truth or even to identify objective reality are no longer hindrances to higher office." Of course he's commenting, accurately I believe, on the actual state of desperation we have been driven to in our search of an actual representative democratic republic.
Michelle Bachmanns can now be led by the voices they can hear when there's no one talking right up to a real shot at becoming "The President" under the new paradigm of populism, The Tea Party, it has turned serious, like comedians are now.
How about a ticket of,say, Newt the Toot Gingrich and Jonathon Winters?
I just realized this morning, I'm not wondering when it will get better anymore. Now I'm interested in where can we go and sustain the least amount of damage.
I told my wife, "we can stay pissed off or laugh at the lunacy of it all."
She didn't laugh.
